Tajweed Color Guide
This Quran uses color coding to help you identify Tajweed rules. Here's what each color means:
Red - Madd (Elongation)
مد
Indicates letters that should be elongated (stretched) when reciting.
Blue - Qalqalah (Echo)
قلقلة
Letters (ق ط ب ج د) that produce a bouncing/echoing sound when they have sukoon.
Green - Ghunnah (Nasalization)
غنة
Indicates nasal sound that comes from the nose (with Noon & Meem).
Orange - Ikhfa (Hiding)
إخفاء
Noon sakinah or tanween is hidden before certain letters.
Purple - Idgham (Merging)
إدغام
Merging of letters where one letter flows into another.
Gray - Iqlab (Conversion)
إقلاب
Noon sakinah or tanween changes to Meem when followed by Ba.
